Stop Urban Sprawl

Against the gradual construction of homes in the East of England.

Stop urban sprawl in Maldon

A public pledge focused on Maldon. Over thirty years the starting point here is about 17,580 homes. Sign below.

Our demand

You can't just add hundreds of thousands of homes to our existing villages and market towns and call it a plan. The government's starting point for this region is another 1,367,880 homes over thirty years — including about 17,580 in Maldon — piled onto places that already lack school places, GP capacity, water, sewage and the roads to cope.

If you're going to build homes, do it in one place, with the infrastructure funded and delivered up front — not smeared across the edge of every parish. Read how to stop urban sprawl.

We are against urban sprawl: gradual, scattered growth that destroys the countryside and ruins the services we rely on.
